Dr. Stanley Hirsch
President and CEO
Dr. Hirsch joined us in March 1995. He was previously responsible for business development for a privately held group of healthcare companies, where he was responsible for structuring and managing joint ventures, startup companies, technology licensing and new product acquisitions. Previously, he has also served as general manager of two diagnostics development companies. Dr. Hirsch has been involved in the development of automated systems for plant tissue culture and is a co-inventor of patents in plant biotechnology and micropropagation systems. Dr. Hirsch received his D. Phil. from Oxford University in cell biology and immunology.
Professor Oded Shoseyov
Chief Scientist
Prof. Shoseyov is a faculty member of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prof. Shoseyov's research is in plant molecular biology and biotechnology. He has extensive experience with genetic engineering of plants, protein engineering and nano-biotechnology. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific publications and is the inventor or co-inventor of 18 patents. Prof. Shoseyov received the Outstanding Scientist Polak Award for 2002, and the 1999 Kay Award for Innovative and Applied Research. He is the scientific founder of CBD Technolgies Ltd., co-founder of Fulcrum-SP Ltd., a nano-biotechnology company and Collplant Ltd., an agro-biotech company that produces human recombinant collagen in tobacco. He holds a Ph.D. from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
Ziv Shani, Ph.D
Director Of R&D
Dr Shani joined CBD in 1999 and has been responsible for building and directing the AgBio research group. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Shani is a leading contributor to research and development in the field of agricultural biotechnology. Amongst his accomplishments, he isolated the cel1 gene and promoter and is a co-inventor of our cell wall modification technology. He has published extensively and is the co-inventor of 4 patents.
